Grade 10 Visual Art and Design:shape/form/line poster

Your next poster is based on shape, form and line. You have being working on the following exercises/illustrations:
1. Creating an eva stamp from positive and negative shapes.
2. Exploring how shapes create 3-dimensional forms such as cones, cylinders and cubes.
3. Your figure collage (see Picasso's three musicians for inspiration)
4. Your 5 blocks filled with various types of lines
6. Using line to create a drawing of a face.

choose your most original examples to create your poster.

Your information could cover :
-definitions of shape/line/form
-difference between positive and negative shapes
-geometric shapes and organic shapes
-outlined and non-outlined shapes
-implied line
-types of line
-how line creates boundaries
-contour lines
-vertical horizontal and diagonal lines-emotional qualities of line

Make sure you analyse what inspires the artists and how the express their ideas in terms of the elements and principles of art.

Grade 11 and 12 Concept Drawings

Please note that these drawings can be A4 or A3. Obviously your choice of meduim will influence the scale...for example charcoal and pastel would be better on A3 and pencil and pencil crayon is better suited to A4.

Make sure that you create an illusion of space and form.

Also make sure that your content is original and links with your theme.

Your inspiration could be drawing from life (i.e an observation drawing of a protea) or  from you own photograph or a collage of images.  Make sure that your composition is interesting (i.e analyse your work according to the elements and principles of art).

Grade 11s

Your sourcebooks must be online -> this means that you can scan them and create a prezi or upload them through slideboom, or you could work with animation i.e Windows Movie Maker or Photostory or Windows Live Moviemaker (this works best for online work as it ensures that your files are not to big)
