Grade 10 Acrylics
Please check that you have:
- Cut your board to size and that your edages are striaght (use the green cutting boards to check)
- Paint your boards white (at least two layers)
- paint a cross on the back to prevent it from bending
- put your name on on your board
- once your board is DRY sand it lightly
- and use a cloth to apply a blue grey wash (mix blue with black/burnt umber)
- download and print your picture
- make sure you edit your photo on photoshop and change the image size to the same size as your board
- sketch your composition lightly in pencil.
- begin painting

Grade 9's Drawing Project: Term 4
Your next drawing is based on perspective and memories. Your need to draw an object (or objects) that has (have) personal significance to you. The object(s) must be placed on a road/ in box/ on chair or table.

Always pleasant to have some financial incentives!
This should fit in well with your Gender Issues theme this term.
- The competition is open to any learner in Grades 10-12, who is a citizen of South Africa
- The THEME for this year’s competition is: Our Present to the Future
- Learners can enter in one or both of TWO CATEGORIES:
• Pencil/charcoal sketches to be drawn on paper or board
• Oil/acrylic paintings to be painted on board or canvass - Art works have to be a MINIMUM of 29.5cm x 21cm
- Once the competition officially opens in May learners can enter the competition by completing an online entry form on the www.strokesofgenius.co.za web site. Entries for the 2012 competition will ONLY be received online – no mail or fax entries will be accepted.
- Learners must only complete the entry form once their art work has been completed, as the online entry process wil require that a high resolution photograph of the learner’s art work also be submitted.
- The closing date for entries will be Friday 3 August 2012
